1000 Lives Plus Twitter policy

The 1000 Lives Plus Twitter account (@1000LivesPlus) is managed by the 1000 Lives Plus team, on behalf of the national programme.

Content
Our followers can expect between 2-10 tweets a week, although this may increase in special circumstances, such as updates from events. Where possible notification of possible increased tweet frequency will be given in advance.
Our tweets will cover some or all of the following:
  • alerts about new content on our digital channels (news, publications, videos etc.)
  • occasional live coverage of events
  • educational information, e.g. statistics, with accreditation
  • re-tweets of information from appropriate sources, usually restricted to healthcare improvement organisations

Following
If you follow @1000LivesPlus we will not automatically follow you back. This is to discourage the use of direct messaging, avoid resource wasting spam handling and so that you can easily identify other key Twitter users that we think are relevant and who we follow. However, being followed by 1000 Lives Plus does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Availability
We will update and monitor our Twitter account during office hours, Monday to Friday. Occasionally our Twitter account will be updated out of hours.
There may be times when Twitter is unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.

@replies and Direct Messages
We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and endeavour to engage where possible. However, we may be unable to reply individually to messages we receive via Twitter.
We read all @replies and Direct Messages and ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to relevant people in the programme.
We will not engage on issues relating to specific service quality, complaints about NHS services, or medical practice. Complaints and comments relating to service quality need to be taken up through official channels, details of which will be available on the relevant organisation’s website.
1000 Lives Plus cannot offer medical advice to individuals in any capacity.

The usual ways of contacting us for official correspondence are detailed in the Contact section of our website.
